Early 2010 - ST Imaging displayed the ST ViewScan Microfilm Crossover™ technology at the VALA2010 Library exhibition in Melbourne Australia. The ST ViewScan
was announced as the Latest 2010 Technology when one of its main components, the old Analogue Technology UC-9 Motorised Film Carrier was introduced in the mid 1980 as
the UC-6E for use with, the now defunct Canon Model PC80 Analogue Reader Printer. HOW'S THAT FOR THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY only 25 years young!
COMPACT DESIGN
2009 - March - The e-Image Data’s - ScanPro2000 / ScanPro 2000 Digital Microfilm Reader / Viewer / Scanner / Printer including the UCC300 16 / 35 mm Motorised
Roll Film Carrier - MRFC weighs in as the MOST COMPACT Digital Microfilm Reader / Viewer / Scanner / Printer on the PLANET. The ScanPro 2000 weighs in at nine [9]
KG and 190 mm high x 305 mm wide x 405 mm deep.
Early 2010 - The ST Imaging ST ViewScan Microfilm Crossover™ technology unit including the old Analogue Technology UC9 16 / 35 mm Motorised Roll Film Carrier
weighs in at nine & a half [9.5] KG but more importantly the ST ViewScan takes up a greater foot print than the ScanPro2000 at 168.3 mm high x 635 mm wide x
431.8 mm deep which is a much larger footprint than the more compact ScanPro2000.
DIGITAL CAMERA
2009 - March - The e-Image Data’s - ScanPro1000 / ScanPro 2000 Digital Microfilm Reader / Viewer / Scanner / Printer utilises a 6.6 Megapixel resolution
Camera This 6.6 megapixel resolution camera provides the ScanPro2000 an alternative "at sensor" reporting of resolution (dpi) at 7,257 dpi.
Early 2010 - The ST Imaging ST ViewScan Microfilm Crossover™ technology unit utilizes the Guppy camera which has a resolution of 5 Megapixels. This
variation in camera resolution means that the resolution of the ST ViewScan resolution is 24% less than that of the ScanPro 2000.
AUTO FOCUS
2009 - March - The e-Image Data’s - ScanPro1000 / ScanPro 2000 Digital Microfilm Reader / Viewer / Scanner / Printer carries out an AUTO FOCUS automatically as
an image is brought to screen. If the operator invokes an AUTO FOCUS request for a particular image the process is carried out in a timeframe of around 10-12
seconds. The AUTO FOCUS is integral to the operation of the ScanPro2000 & works 100% of the time.

Help, Hints, Tips and Frequently Asked Questions:
QUESTION: I cannot make it focus when I zoom all the way to one end of the zoom spectrum.
ANSWER: We all have limits.
The Mechanism for moving the camera assembly can travel slightly further than the focal range permits.
Just back off the optical zoom the opposite direction from the way you moved the camera until you get it back to a range
where focus can be obtained.
2010 - AUGUST - What some Local Family Historians and Genealogists plus other Researchers at the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) located at 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD 20740-6001 in the National Capital in Washington DC are saying.
Based on completed surveys, researchers prefer the e-Image Data’s - ScanPro2000 / ScanPro 2000 Digital Microfilm Reader / Viewer / Scanner / Printer to that of the S-T Imaging’s ST ViewScan.
Of the 14 survey responses received from researchers on the e-Image Data’s - ScanPro2000 all but one was positive. NOTE: This equates to a 93% vote by the respondents in favour of the Features, Benefits & Capabilities provided by the e-Image Data’s - ScanPro2000.
Researchers acknowledged that the machine takes time to learn but they really liked using the machine once they understood the program.
The “Spot-Edit” function was a hit with both staff and researchers. The only downside is the lack of an “Undo” function.
Unfortunately, we did not get many surveys back for the ST ViewScan. Researchers agreed that the machine was good,
but they preferred the e-Image Data’s ScanPro2000 / ScanPro 2000 Digital Microfilm Reader / Viewer / Scanner / Printer.
One researcher, who used the ST ViewScan machine for about a week, told us that the machine would freeze and she would lose all of her scanned images.
We also had a problem saving images with the ST ViewScan machine, but that was fixed by saving the images as a different file type.
2010 - JULY - What some Local Family Historians and Genealogists in North America are saying on the internet about the e-Image Data ScanPro model 2000 / ScanPro2000 / ScanPro 2000 Digital Microfilm Reader / Viewer / Scanner / Printer.

I had reported early last year that the Archives of Ontario had equipped their new library on the York University campus with SEVENTY FOUR [74] ScanPro 2000's (they just added an additional ScanPro 2000 bringing the total to SEVENTY FIVE [75] units).
I have had an opportunity to use those scanners and they are amazing. They are fast, easy to use and the powerful software controls makes it easy to complete look-ups quickly.
Genealogy groups rent buses to go there and use the equipment and the controls on the ScanPro are so intuitive those researchers just sit down and start using the equipment with little or no instruction.

I have used the ST Imaging ST200X that Jim is referring to and it was not even close to the performance of the ScanPro 2000.
It took more than 1 minute to scan an image vs. 1 second for the ScanPro 2000 and the end result was of lower quality.
I am quite certain that the actual document resolution is not the 3600 dpi that the manufacturer ST Imaging claims.
To get started there were 5 switches that needed to be turned on.
With significant frustration and help I did finally get it up and running. Once running, I had to switch back and forth from view mode to computer mode before a scan could be made.
This switching back and forth is very confusing and slows microfilm genealogy research to a point even slower than the old reader / printers.
Scans of a newspaper made directly to the SD card, with the exception of the headlines, were unreadable.
I understand that e-ImageData, the manufacturer of the ScanPro 2000, will provide a trade in allowance for those unfortunate souls who purchased the ST200X.
